The Ashrae Principles of Smoke Management
CD can be used for smoke management design and analysis.
This hardback textbook replaces the 1992 book "Design of Smoke
Management Systems." From zoned smoke control to pressurized stairwells,
it is an exhaustive treatment of smoke management. Recent advancements
discussed in the book include heat release rate, toxicity of smoke,
natural atrium venting, plugholing, smoke stratification, smoke
detection and tenability systems. Methods of analysis include equations,
network flow models, zone fire models, scale modeling and hazard
analysis. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is also addressed.
The book includes a CD containing five different computer programs,
and provides discussion of the CD and several sample calculations.
